AAF Memphis presented its 56th annual American Advertising Awards for creative excellence on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at new venue 307 Madison Avenue. This year’s theme was Comma Con created by Hemline Tailored Brand Strategies.
The event honored 44 Gold Addy winners, 40 Silver Addy winners, 3 Student Silver Addy winners, and 8 recipients for “Best of” awards. In addition, our 3 judges each awarded a judges choice award. This year, a Mosaic Award was given to DCA for their work for the Place Where You Stay video project. This award recognizes “companies, agencies and individuals whose commitment to diversity and inclusion is evident through their creative work and organization-wide initiatives”.
This year’s 398 entries were judged by Jorge Pomareda, Creative Director at Highdive Advertising in Chicago, Rob Tate, Senior Account Manager at Google in New York City, and Russell Toynes, Owner + Creative Director at Studio Dzo in Austin.
“I was excited to see Holtermonter’s Time Warp Drive-In branding and poster series be honored with Best in Print. The crowd erupted in applause! It was great to see the community supporting and cheering for all the wins.” said AAF Memphis President Richard Fudge, System Senior Artist at Baptist Memorial Health Care.
